It’s Official! As of May 6th, 2019, Maryland Creative Collective is officially open for business. We decided to kick things off with a fun party to welcome our friends, family, and fellow creatives to come see what we’d been working on night and day for a whole month!
We were thrilled to have collaborated with some of the best businesses in the area to show off some of Maryland Creative Collective’s best assets. As you walk in our first floor door, you are immediately greeted with an incredibly striking mural, painted on our glass stairwell by friend and talented artist Darra of Dear Darling Design Studios. What was initially just intended for the party, is honestly going to be a permanent feature because we love it SO MUCH! Darra really outdid herself and we couldn’t be more excited to have worked with her. It is a talking point for everyone who walks in!
Our office space, located to the left of the stairs, (not photographed – oops!) had a few fun pops of color thanks to some leftover blooms from a styled shoot the day before! Rose courtesy of our new friend Shelby Grace Photography!
It’s 2019 – the year of balloon art! So obviously, we needed to brighten up the space with an epic balloon garland. We connected with Caroline of Posie Pop Design and we are so thrilled with what she came up with! She even worked around our $3 Target “Cheers” balloon find – and made it so epic! And, she was super fun to work with. Her business is seriously booming, so if you need to add a little “pop” (see what I did there?) to your event – Caroline is your girl, trust me!
One of our absolute favorite features of Maryland Creative Collective is our huge, stunning fireplace on the second floor. We knew we needed to play up the gorgeous mantel, and so we decided that a floral arrangement was absolutely necessary. It was our hope to soften it up, as well as provide inspiration to potential renters to see how it could be decorated for photo shoots and events! We contacted Kate of Love and Luster Floral Design and she literally took our request and seriously knocked it out of the park! She loaded up the mantel with stunning textured greenery and lush white flowers, and even threw in some on-brand pops of bright blue! If flowers didn’t die we’d totally keep that up forever, too!
The party would not have been complete without The Magic Selfie Mirror – a photo booth service provided by Jenny Z Mobile DJ. This photo booth was amazing, and an absolute hit! It provided nonstop entertainment all night, and was so easy to use – Anne’s 8 year old son mastered all of the features! The photos were amazing quality, and the built in ring light was super flattering. Above all, Jenny even surprised us by creating a custom border for the images! We can’t wait to use the Magic Selfie Mirror for more events at the studio! See their blog post about our event here!
Here are some of the adorable photos captured by The Magic Selfie Mirror! The balloon garland made the perfect backdrop!
The amount of friends, family, creatives, and business owners who came to celebrate the grand opening of Maryland Creative Collective really blew our minds. We spent the whole evening catching up, sipping on bubbly, snacking on Chick Fil A (& Anne’s homemade bites) all while being blown away by Flavor Cupcakery‘s cake truffles & macarons. In addition, we also shared stories of how the studio came to be and connected with other business owners, both familiar and new.
We are so blessed to have so much support in our circles and we are so excited to be sharing this studio space with others in the community. Thank you to everyone who contributed to our swag bags as well! We truly appreciate everyone who came by to cheer us on. And if you couldn’t, don’t hesitate to reach out! We’d love to show you around!
